Vaginal laxity due to a loss of vaginal collagen is a common yet overlooked condition among women. While it is a normal part of aging, stretching of the vaginal wall and surrounding structures during childbirth can damage collagen fibres and result in a loss of vaginal wall elasticity and a laxity of pelvic supporting tissue. Because of this, some women may experience decreased sexual satisfaction or a certain degree of stress urinary incontinence, which is an involuntary leakage of urine when one coughs, sneezes, or exercises. It is important to address such issues that impact a women’s intimate health and not be made to feel uncomfortable about it.
