LDM ULTRASOUND TREATMENT FOR SKIN REPAIR AND ANTI-AGEING

LDM (local dynamic micro-massage) is a non-invasive skin repair treatment that utilises dual-frequency ultrasound technology to deliver ultrasound waves to skin tissue. These hybrid waves can directly influence cellular activities to promote cell repair, collagen production, tightening of connective tissues, improved hydration and more.

WHY LDM Ultrasound?

Due to LDM’s ability to directly influence cell activities in a myriad of ways, it is a choice option for several aesthetic and dermatological purposes including;

AestheticsDermatological
Wrinkle reductionAcne
Skin tightening (face and body)Eczema
Stretch marks Acne/hypertrophic scars
Anti-Agin/Skin RejuvenationKeloids
Cellulite and stretch mark reductionEczema
SonophoresisDermatitis
Pre and post-liposuctionUlcus cruriss
Pre and post-facelift

The Hybrid ultrasound waves of lDM trigger processes integral to skin recovery through the following three mechanisms:

  • MMP Control

MMPs (matrix metalloproteinases) contribute to connective tissue metabolic disorders and often result in skin disorders such as acne and eczema. For example, acne-prone skin can contain MMP-1 values 1,000 times higher than that of normal skin. LDM helps suppress these levels, reduce the damage caused by excess MMP and return skin back to its normal state.

  • HSP Activation

HSPs (heat shock proteins) are the building blocks of collagen production and cell protection. They also defend the skin against extreme temperatures and sun exposure. It is with this HSP activation that LDM patients often enjoy tighter, less wrinkled skin.

  • GAG Increase

In abundant amounts, GAG (Glycosaminoglycans) increases skin moisture and texture, addressing ageing problems such as fine lines.

THE LDM ULTRASOUND DIFFERENCE AT VERITAS

At Veritas, Dr. Chua is the pioneer doctor who helped to introduce the LDM ultrasound treatment to the Singapore market. Our therapists are highly trained in its correct usage across multiple applications from skin concerns such as eczema and acne to hair transplant.

We also have dedicated protocols to ensure that our treatments are customised for the patient’s specific concern. The LDM Bio + Hydropeel facial treatment is a popular combination that marries the benefits of hydra dermabrasion and ultrasound technology to control sebum, cleanse, exfoliate, and hydrate the skin.

  • Evidence-based medical facial managed by doctors
  • Directly influences cell activities on a molecular level
  • Carefully performed by trained therapists
  • Different settings make it suitable to treat a myriad of conditions
  • Works synergistic with other treatments such as lasers, skinboosters, etc.

FAQs

After LDM ultrasound, patients enjoy healthier, youthful and supple skin. Those with dermatological conditions like acne and eczema often find a significant reduction in redness and dryness both immediately and over the long run.

Each session takes about 35-60 minutes.

There is no downtime for LDM ultrasound, you are free to resume regular activities after. However, we recommend avoiding direct sun exposure for at least 24 hours after, and apply lots of sunblock before heading out.

Your face will first be thoroughly cleansed. After which, a layer of ultrasonic gel will be applied – this gel maximises the effects of LDM’s ultrasound waves, which are delivered through an ultrasound probe. There should be no pain or discomfort during the procedure.

LDM ultrasound is suitable for anyone, including those with acne-prone skin and sensitive skin.

Certainly. In fact, we highly recommend doing LDM ultrasound after your aesthetic treatments to enhance results and minimize downtime.

While you can see distinct improvements to your skin just after one session, LDM ultrasound is usually recommended from once every 2 weeks to twice per week for 4-6 weeks initially, and once every 3-4 months thereafter. The doctor will advise you on the frequency in more detail after having assessed your particular concern.
