What is Ecoxel CO2 Laser Resurfacing?

Ecoxel CO2 laser resurfacing is one of the most useful tools for treatment of scarring, wrinkles and loose skin.

The fractional handpiece resurfaces skin texture by leaving areas of untouched skin between treated skin columns, ensuring faster healing after each resurfacing procedure. The treated columns level the appearance of uneven skin like scars or wrinkles by collagen stimulation. Results typically take a few weeks to show from the first treatment, and will require a few sessions for optimal results once treatment is commenced.

The general handpiece is used to surgically remove warts/moles/milia/skin tags and other surface lesions. It can also be used for full-field resurfacing.

How does it work?

Ecoxel CO2 is an ablative laser that is well absorbed in water, causing a removal of unwanted parts of the skin (such as scars, wrinkles, unwanted growths) and also a heating effect to stimulate collagenesis and restored skin.

An ablative laser treatment is one of the most reliable and age-old techniques of regaining youthful features and can be used in either full-field resurfacing or fractional resurfacing, depending on the downtime one can afford.

FAQs

This will depend on the area that needs to be covered, the type of skin issue, and the severity of the problem. A consultation is necessary so that your condition can be extensively evaluated and you can receive appropriate treatment.

The homogeneity of its laser beam profile ensures safety during treatment, since the laser is evenly distributed across the treated areas. Epidermal damage is minimized and the risks of bleeding, tissue splatter and transient textural changes in the skin are decreased.

The entire face can be treated by the CO2 Laser in as little as 15-30 minutes. The total treatment time can vary depending on topical application of numbing and the number of laser passes needed for treatment.

Your CO2 Laser Resurfacing treatment can take anywhere from 15-30min depending on the area being treated. Before the treatment a topical anesthetic will be applied to make the procedure virtually painless, and extra time needs to be budgeted for that. Minimal discomfort may be felt during the treatment after application of anesthetic.

Patients may experience redness, swelling, heat sensation similar to a sunburn, itching, and dryness at the treatment area.

Each unique patient and condition requires a different treatment protocol. Results are typically seen after the first session but it can take 3-6 sessions to produce optimal results.

A: The amount of downtime you will experience after a CO2 Laser Resurfacing Treatment is dependent on a number of different factors. There will be some downtime which can range from just 1 day to more than 1 week.

A: There is a list of post-procedure care instructions that will be reviewed at the time of your consultation. The instructions depend on the exact procedure you are going for. Medicines to apply the first few days, along with specific skincare products to apply will be recommended. Usually, make up should be avoided for the first day at least.

The Ecoxel CO2 laser is a CO2 laser that offers the widest possible range in terms of power- the machine is able to generate very mild to very strong laser beams. While most Co2 lasers have energy settings that start from 15W, the Ecoxel is able to generate laser beams starting from 1W. This means it can be an extremely powerful or gentle laser, depending on requirement. When used for light CO2 peels, it is like having access to an entire range of chemical peels with different strengths. This allows for customised treatments for a whole range of skin concerns.

The Ecoxel is also equipped with ultrapulse, which offers higher energy with shorter pulse. This results in greater effective collagen stimulation with less patient downtime. When used for surgical excision (moles/skin tags), there is minimal charring and lesser side effects than other CO2 machines. When used for fractional resurfacing, the recovery is faster and much less painful as well.

The cost of the treatment depends on the area of concern and the number of treatments needed to achieve the desired results. A personal consultation is necessary so our doctors can advise you with the treatment approach that best suits your case.
