Why Old Approaches to Acne Treatment Doesn’t Work
Over the years, the only solutions to pesky and recurring acne are strong and harsh acne products like creams and pills that cause the skin to become dry and become even more sensitive. In some cases, these anti-acne products can cause peeling of the skin, cracked lips and even dryness of the eye.
When patients see improvements and stop using these products, the acne makes a comeback and will start the cycle of using creams and pills all over again. Sometimes, acne breakouts are even worse than before. Just the thought of having to use anti-acne products for the rest of your life can be very daunting. This is why it cannot be denied that a lot of people can relate that these harsh products can be very frustrating to use, especially given the side-effects and the lack of assurance that the root cause for their acne is fixed in the first place.
Why does acne keep on appearing on the same spots on my face?
According to a Japanese study, there are specific cases of acne patients where they had pimples that kept reappearing on the same regions of their face. Through digital mapping procedures, they realized that there were specifically a few hundred pores that were being blocked repeatedly, accounting for nearly 90% of all acne on the patient’s face. They were able to conclude that such damaged pores, that are unable to handle the flow of sebum, are the main cause for acne breakouts that occur throughout adulthood.
